Fun Fun...

Well, lately it's been ups and downs...

UP: I got an award at work yesterday (some time off yay!)

DOWN: I got rear-ended on my way home from work yesterday. Yeah. I was sitting at a red light and it had just turned green. Suddenly, I get bumped from behind. I'm like, "great, just what I need." So when I pulled over, it turned out to be a three car pile-up that I got away from best. The guy behind me was also stopped at the light when the person behind him rammed into him...guess he didn't notice we were all stopped. He bumped the middle dude, the middle dude bumped me. Well, their damages were pretty substantial, mine were minor. (mostly the bumper, and a tiny bit of my left rear panel) So we called the cops and they came out...

UP: the guy who started the accident claimed fault and issues were resolved

DOWN: the whole incident made me an hour later getting home (it normally takes about 30 mins) and then I spent another hour or so on the phone to report the claim to my insurance and the other guys'

UP: I shouldn't have to pay anything for the repair.

DOWN: It's gonna be a pain in the butt to get the repairs done.

UP: Going to the RenFest this Saturday! AND we're finally going on our honeymoon next weekend! YAY!

Long Time No Post

Ya...I keep on getting distracted and forgetting to post in this thing. Other people's lives are more interesting to read sometimes :)

Anyway, the news: I joined the gym at work. (btw. awesome free yoga/pilates/kick boxing/aerobics classes offered weekly) Totally worth the cheap yearly fee. Let's just say <$200. So I'm now taking a yoga class once/week and a ball aerobics class once/week. It rocks! I feel like I'm doing something positive with my free time. And I feel pretty good. A bit tired, but pretty good just the same.

Other news: Today sucked. I had way too much work to do...then I had to leave early for a gyn appointment. (Not my favorite thing in the world) It really wasn't bad, but I sat in the waiting room for 2 hours! There are only two doctors in the practice where I go, a mother and daughter. The daughter had to go deliver a baby in Annapolis, so she left. One doctor + many patients = SLOWWWWW....Especially when it's a kind older Indian lady who likes to chatter. Seriously, I was actually in the exam room for about 10 mins and we had a whole conversation about Pittsburgh.

Next. My uber-long wait time made me miss seeing my hubby (he went out to do DnD at a friend's place for the evening). *cry* So, making the better of things, I went out to get my happy-no-preggers pills prescription filled and do some shopping whilst I wait...I shop at Kohl's for an hour (got some really spiffy exercise pants) and come back...wait another hour to get my prescription. It's been a day of waiting. I estimate that I spent about 4 hours in lines or waiting rooms today. Sheesh.

But I got to play my WarCrack for about 2 hours and my hubby just got home. The day has resolved itself! Hooray! Now for bed.

I got tagged...

Okay...so I was tagged.

"Name 12 fictional characters you would have sex with (in no particular order) and tag five people to do the same." Here goes:

1. Syaoran from Card Captor Sakura/Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles. Duh. (the older one! I'm not a pedaphile :) )

2. Van from Escaflowne (He has wings! OMG)

3. Kratos from Tales of Symphonia (also a winged bishie *drool*)

4. Sora from Kingdom Hearts (I don't know why I think he's so cute...maybe it's the hair?)

5. Ron from Kim Possible (I guess I find awkwardness attractive *shrug*)

6. Inuyasha (enough said)

7. Miroku from Inuyasha (why the hell not?)

8. Matt from W.I.T.C.H. (He's the normal kid in the group of fancy butterflies)

9. Chrno from Chrno Crusade (Hello? Adorable little demon boy most of the time, hot, sexy winged bishie alter ego? XP)

10. Ferio from Rayearth (Knight in shining armor sort of thing eh.)

11. Kyou from Fruits Basket (Kitty!)

12. Daisuke from D.N. Angel (OMG so awkward and adorable and squishy and winged too sometimes!!! *squee*)

I tag: silmerosse, bananastar, brevisse, scissorhandz, raisedbymoogles

Wedding

So, yup, it's official. Dave and I are married. :)

Had a wonderful time...my parents were stressed and I'm not sure how many hours of sleep my Mom got last week, but it was all well worth it. The wedding was absolutely great. I couldn't have asked for more. Friends, family, some that I didn't even recognize immediately; stir in a gorgeous dress (omg i love that dress), some fun music, and a nearly flawless evening...PERFECT.

I really don't know what to say, except thank you to everyone who made the long trip up to PA. It was fabulous to see everyone together like that having a good time :).

Now I just have to go through the fun of changing my name on EVERYTHING. Heh.

It's a Surprise

So, I thought my Saturday was going to be simple and boring. Sleep in, play some Warcrack, help Mom at the church for a little bit, and then go out to dinner. Boy was I wrong...

They tricked me!!! They all tricked me! It was all a ploy to get me dressed nicely and delivered to the church on time for a bridal shower. I wasn't expecting anything of the sort and so I was really shocked to walk into the room full of my soon-to-be relatives along with my best friend from PA and my Mom! She told me that she wouldn't be able to make it down this weekend the day before. Apparently there were a lot of things that should've given this away to me...but alas I was clueless.

I had a great time though! I'm so glad that my in-laws love me and are happy to have me in there family. I can't wait until the wedding. It's gonna be an awesome party!!!

On a fun note, Dave came back from his bachelor party today and he is sunburned. So are all of his groomsmen. And to top it off, the best man dislocated his shoulder at the beach yesterday...

Happy Birthday to me!

Yup, it's my birthday! I turned 23 today. ^_^ The day was set to go well...I made cupcakes to take to work, my parents were due to arrive this afternoon, and I was looking forward to a full day at work (i like being busy). BUT... I woke up shortly after going to bed last night and my eye was all swollen! I was like HUH???? I thought maybe I got too close to the cat and got hair in my eye. So I washed it and went back to bed. This morning...still not gone and my eye was all puffy and red. Guess what? Got a sty. Never had one before, but apparently it's an infection of a gland in the eyelid. It's a lot like a pimple. Anyway this was just what I needed a week before my wedding. :( I looked it up and it takes about 5-7 days for one of these things to go away on it's own. JOY. (All I'm saying is it had better be gone or at least not swollen any more by next weekend!!!!)

Still went to work and worked late to take care of just enough to meet deadlines next week before I leave. Then I call my folks to find out when they'll be here...and they tell me they can't make it down. My dad is stuck out in Michigan with work and there's no way logistically they can manage the trip. So, oh well. David is supposed to go out for his bachelor party tomorrow night anyway.

On the positive side, my co-workers were all nice to me today, we had the delicious cupcakes and they gave me a card and everything. Dave had flowers for me when I got home (along with the last two Cardcaptor Sakura DVDs I needed) And we're going out to Applebee's for dinner (Orange Chicken bowl YUM!!!). So all in all, a pretty balanced day. I just hope things fall into place this week like they're supposed to. I don't want to get stressed, but enough things might push me there.

Wedding Updates

So, getting there...only one month left. I wish it would hurry up!!! ^_^v Just had my bridal shower up in PA over last weekend. It was lovely. My girls did it in an Asian theme. There was bamboo on the tables and a bonsai tree on the head table, along with some beta fish in bowls. We had a blast. Though, my family got to pick on me a little...they made Dave and I play a short round of the "Newlywed Game" Y'know, the one where they ask both people questions about the other and then compare answers? Well, for every one I got wrong, I had to put a piece of chewing gum in my mouth...let's just say I was chewing a lot of gum. :(

The questions were hard!!!

In other news, I got to keep one of the fish. His name is Howl and he's blue, red, purple, and white. He now lives on my dresser.

Almost done...just got to finish arranging the ceremony and choosing music. Got a few calls to make and some planning to finalize, but otherwise we're all set. I can't wait!

Um...okay? I don't even remember some of their names but here's how I scored:

You scored as Yamamoto Genryuusai. You're Yamamoto Genryuusai, Captain of the First Division!
You're the one in charge, and you make a lot of decisions. People respect you highly and listen when you give advice or direction. You might seem to be a non-agressive type, but watch out when someone drives you to the point of fighting!

<table border="0" width="300" cellspacing="0"
Howl's Moving Castle

So, I am reading the novel, "Howl's Moving Castle." You know, the book that spawned the movie :) Anyway, there are a lot of differences that really make the story easier to understand, but make the characters that much more complex and flawed. For example (1): Sophie has two sisters...and they switch places and do magic. Heh. (2) Sophie is a big neb-nose and Howl is a vain jerk. Characters are much stronger here and their flaws are emphasized. Turnip-head just keeps chasing the castle and there are dogs...who just randomly show up. Fun. I am enjoying the novel greatly and don't mind pushing that anyone who liked the movie should read the book too. And this has been Aefrae's book review corner...

What to say...

Well, I guess there's been a lot going on since the last time I posted, but I'm not really sure, since most things I do are really lackluster. Oh well. I've been busy at work and I'm currently taking a class in Illustrator, so that's cool. I feel like I should be exercising more or being more busy outdoors with the lovely weather. But, the weather keeps turning icky before I can ever get my lazy butt to do anything, and exercise seems to take a backseat to WoW. Which, by the way, I am frustrated with...I need better gear for my 60 Hunter, the problem is that I don't want to come home every day and play WoW until I go to bed. Dillema? Well, if I want the better stuff, I'm going to have to run more instances; those take time. More instances = less social life (not that I have one) = better gear = playing WoW all of my free time = not good. 6_6 whoa.

So, not sure what to do really. I think I'm going to try to play more, but pre-plan exercise time too. One of my co-workers was interested in going to the track after work to walk once/ week. I think that's a great idea. The problem is that I'll have to be the one to initialize it or it probably won't happen. Heh. Maybe the warmer weather will encourage me :)

Dancing

So yeah, we went to a free dance lesson last night...it was honestly kinda fun. I enjoyed the lesson, though now I'm super-self-conscious of my back posture. Apparently I arc my back forward and don't stand up straight: weird. Anyway, we're not going to continue taking lessons there because it's way too expensive. So...Mikaiya, major favor! We got through a basic Rumba box step, do you think you could help us refine it and maybe learn a few other variations? Pretty please? We could offer to meet wherever you'd like. (Actually, I'd like to visit you anyway, even if you decide that you can't help ^_^v) I will probably give you a call, because I'd rather talk about it directly anyhow.

So...so much for professional dancing lessons. Onward to other options and further wedding planning. The rest of it is going pretty well. Registry is almost done too! Only 3 months left 0_o hehe...

Dum Dum Dum...the dentist revisited

Well, tomorrow I go back to the dentist to get my tooth pulled and two other cavities filled...not fun. Oh well, I really don't have much of a choice...it's got to get done. I'm still fearing it because I'm worried about the pulling thing, I mean, ripping a tooth that is rooted in the gums by force seems well- um- painful and awful. Man...I just don't wanna go but at least I get to be out of work really early and then play WoW all afternoon if I really feel like it. Bleh. Still doesn't make up for the time, money, and most likely pain that will ensue.

Maybe I'll buy myself Kingdom Hearts 2 as a reward for being a good girl.

Just another update...

Well, I keep trying to get my wedding invitations out, but it's taking me a few days longer than anticipated. Partially because the laser printer that I need to use (for directions and information stuff) was in use all day yesterday and I couldn't print. So, we're going to try to finish them up today and drop them all in the mail tomorrow. One major thing out of the way.

This weekend, Silmerosse and I are heading up to PA for pre-marital counseling and suchlike. That is, if my pastor would just let me know that the date is okay...everytime I try to call him he's been out sick or busy lately. Oh well. If we can't go up this weekend, then we'll just have to travel up sometime in May.

In other news, I got Auburne, my WoW char up to level 60 this past weekend. =) A pretty major accomplishment honestly. I also went to the doctor's to find out about my bloodwork...so, I'm very healthy. I knew that. Lol. Though my doctor did tell me that I need to eat more and exercise. So, I guess I'm going to try to get back into my DDR regiment...my exercise routine has been steadily waning due to 1) desk job in an office 40 hrs+/ week and 2) WoW eating up my evening time. Yeah. I need to be more active. But thankfully, with summer just around the corner I'll be able to go outside and that will help a great deal.

I survived

EDIT: I did the cut wrong :( Man, here's what was actually supposed to be in that post...

So I went to the dentist this week and got a lot of lovely news (see my earlier post) and then today I got bloodwork done and went to the GYN... I lived. As for the bloodwork, I usually get really sick and fainty afterwards; this time I didn't. I felt so good about that, it helps alleviate my worry about all the future bloodwork I'll have to do (as in the case of pregnancy where I've heard they want your blood and they want lots!). As for the gyn? Well, I had to wait for an hour and a half, which wasn't cool, but the lady was very nice and explained the whole way through. I won't lie, it wasn't at all comfortable (especially not when you're a virgin) and it hurt a little; but it was relatively short and not nearly as dreadful as I thought it would be. On the plus side, the doctor gave me some birth control pills; yay for regular periods, less cramping, and acne control! ^_^ We'll see how this works for me; I'm still sticking to my guns about waiting until I'm married (I've lasted this long, so why not?), but darn it, I don't want to be on my period when the time comes :)

But yeah, I survived, and I've got most of our bridal registry done now ^_^ That makes me happier.

I hate the dentist...

So I finally had to go in and face the dentist yesterday...not my favorite thing to do. I hadn't been in over four years b/c of college/ medical insurance situations. Anyhow, so I went and endured the awful cleaning and so forth, and guess what? One of my wisdom teeth is in crooked and the other three are impacted (they're sideways)...not to mention I have 2 cavities. This sucks. I have to go back in two weeks for him to pull the one and fill the two cavities. Then, I'm going to have to talk to the oral surgeon about taking care of the others, which is going to be major surgery. At least I don't have to deal with the surgey right now, since the teeth aren't coming up; basically I can schedule that at my convenience later in the year.

I am not a happy camper. This is not going to be pleasant or cheap...Oh the joy of my life, and I still have to go to the GYN tomorrow...

More Wedding Plans

So, this weekend, drove up to PA to visit my parents and do some more wedding planning. I'm proud to say that I now have my cake taken care of. I also looked at flowers for the bouquets and decorations and made a few decisions there. Forgot all about asking Mom for hotel information...we've decided not to go on our honeymoon direct from the wedding. We're going to wait a little (like a week or two) before going so that we can arrange time off better. We still have no idea where we want to go for our honeymoon; we're just not normally travellers...I suppose we'll think of something though. Any suggestions?

So I haven't updated in a while...so what?

Heh, I know that there's so much to do and I keep on putting it off because other things...but that's life, oh well. I started my new job last week and I love it so much more than my old one. I get to use my college degree yay! Co-workers are nice and atmosphere is great. Nuff said. I want to get myself back into drawing, so I've been doing this fanart for an Escaflowne fanfic. I finished two of the sketches and did the inking, but haven't gotten to the scanning/color/digital color yet. I think that there're about two other sketches that I'd like to do. Gonna have to start dragging my sketchbook around more often.

Dad-to-be wants me to draw something for his office, so I did some sketches for that last night, but they were kind of blah. I've got a bunch of paperwork left to do this week and I STILL haven't planned a honeymoon. Yeesh. I've got to spend a little less time playing WoW, and a little more time being productive at home. Once I get settled at new work with insurance and such (at the end of the week) I'm gonna have to get new Dr.'s set up all over the place. Joy, something else to add to the mass. But I'll manage it somehow, I don't have much of a choice :( Eh. Time to get myself back into "hyper-organized" mode and take care of business. *rolls up sleeves*

Last Day

So it's my last day at current job. I get to train the new girl this morning. Whoohoo... Oh well, it means that I get to spend the day clearing things out and getting myself together and gone. The new person is another girl in her twenties with a graphic design degree this time. I hope they let her do more production than they did me.

It's kind of annoying, but I know this girl is going to be making about 10k more/yr than I am here. It's the same job, nothing's changed...I really should've asked for higher wages to start with lol. Also, they promised that I'd get to do some production stuff, and I have. Well, a little. Recently, they've been using me alot for production stuff. So, I'm a little sad that I'm leaving now that they've finally gotten comfortable with me and were realizing my skills...oh well, my new job is all production, it uses my major and I'm gonna make tons more money. So I'm a happy, happy girl. :)

Note for Mikaiya

Well, I think I seriously need to talk to mikaiya about some dance lessons and DDR. I love my DDR to death and I would really like to play it with someone else. It's a little annoying that I can only set up one mat in the basement, and even then, I occassionally hit things with my flailing arms. Hehe. In other dance-related news, I am looking to learn how to actually dance. o_0 yeah, I know, scary.

Honestly though, I'm getting married in July, I need to know how to dance...well, more so I need to practice dancing with my future hubband (spelling complements of Erin), and he needs to learn how to dance. I looked at a bunch of classes and such, but those are in a big environment with a lot of other people and frankly, silmerosse isn't likely to get much out of those. Basically I wanted to ask if mikaiya was still interested in teaching us. We could maybe have an excuse to visit her sometime ^_^v and perhaps even squeeze in some DDR. Let me know what you think.

I am so geeky

I love LAN parties :) We went off to James + Erin's place this weekend for mass WoW playing. It was great. There's something entirely too fun about playing an online RPG in the same room with the other people in your party. It's strange how something that is meant to be an online interaction turns out to be a lot more fun as a "room full of people carrying out half a conversation typed while drinking lots of mountain dew and cooking dinner." Heh. I love my friends.

So yeah, I got to be a bum this weekend. And I enjoy it, oh yeah. For those of you NOT working today...*grumble*grumble* I have to. I don't start my new job until next Monday, so for now, no gov holidays and suchlike. It sucks to go to work when everyone else in the house (fiance, mom, and dad) gets to stay home. :(

A few other points->
Bender-san: How did your interview go?
Roundtuit: Babysitting go ok? Want to do something this week? (I believe there will be DnD this next Saturday night)

Transportation to Katsu

Okay, well I went to the websites to try and figure things out...

It looks like we can take a Metro bus from near the BWI airport to the Greenbelt station and then just Metro rail our way to the Zoo station. Total trip time is about an hour and the fare is $6.30/ person. Sounds kinda reasonable honestly and we'd just have to make sure we were either dropped off or drove together to the Metro station. Everything runs on weekends. The station's hours are like 7am to 11pm on weekdays and then 9-2am on weekends, should be easy enough if we travel together. (I have no idea what my work situation is going to be for Friday yet) Looks like a train/bus leaves about every hour so there should be no problem catching on at whatever time we want to leave.

Let me know anyone who's ever really ridden this stuff before...or has any better ideas.

New goals for the new year

Well, I've never really attempted to make good on a New Year's Resolution...but this year I'm gonna try. I've been bad, I'm out of shape and I've been neglecting my drawing as well. So for this year, I want to make this resolution:

To make myself more active. I want to be physically active; I'm going to try to exercise 3x/week (DDR, weights, yoga, just some form of exercise). I'm also going to be more artistically active. I want to make sure I devote a bit of time each week to art things. Meaning, a drawing, painting, digital art, animation, or some other project. I need to turn out some other work, my portfolio stopped expanding after I graduated and it's killing me...

To start off that second part, I've agreed to do a fanart or two for a fanfic that I enjoy. The fic is Escaflowne, entitled: "Soulmates." It's a pretty cute and well-written fic, so I suggest you read. I'm currently getting information and working with the author, but as soon as I have sketches and finished artwork I'll let you know, and I'll post it to my deviant account.

Whew, a lot of typing...sorry folks!

Replacement

Hey guys, I'm movin' on up to my new job at the end of this month...so guess what? They're looking for a replacement for me here. Actually, it's more like I'm looking for my replacement. So anyone interested?

Admin Assistant
ADG|Creative
6630 Eli Whitney Drive
Columbia, MD 21046
full time 40hrs/week 8-5 or 8:30-5:30 M-F
pay is decent (better than minimum wage yay!)
Duties: phones/some admin duties/ filing/ general clean-up/ errands + shopping/ misc office tasks

Please let me know if you are at all interested. The people here are really nice and this is definitely better than retail, you have access to the internet all day, get benefits, good leave program, and a fairly relaxed atmosphere.

There, I've done my part... ^_^v
